Growing Brains Curriculum written by Kathy Johnson

The Growing Brains Curriculum was created through the Pyramid of Potential and written/developed by Kathy Johnson, MS Ed. Unfortunately, the Pyramid of Potential is no longer in service, and Kathy's products are no longer available for purchase.  For many years, Kim has recommended and referenced the Growing Brains Curriculum because she was able to use the program with her own son and saw amazing results. Also, there is extraordinary value in using a daily program to help develop skills and integrate retained primitive reflexes. The program consists of 10-minute daily exercises to be completed for 150 days. Each day lists specific exercises and explanations are provided. LUCKY FOR US, Kathy Johnson has granted Kim permission to share the Growing Brains Curriculum for FREE on this website ($100 value). Kim is beyond thankful for Kathy's creativity, expertise, and generosity to share her amazing work. Thank you Kathy Johnson for your commitment to young minds across the world!

You will need the following materials:
1. The Growing Brains curriculum guide.
2. The Growing Brains Workbook.
3. A metronome. You can purchase a physical metronome or use a metronome app or online metronomes.
4. A stopwatch.

Kim teaches handwriting to Kindergarten and First grade classrooms! When teaching uppercase letters we usually build the letters with various items including: wiki stix, play-doh, q-tips, and straight and curved pieces. One activity you can try is to practice cutting by cutting straight (click) and curved (click) lines using these handouts created by Kim!

Tall, Small, and Low Letter Hand Positions

Kim created these PDF handouts of the hand positions used to help students remember placement on the line. Click here for each: Tall  , small, and low letters. This is reviewed in Kim's Sloppy Handwriting Webinar
