This course reviews the evidence supporting instruction in sensory modulation and basic concepts and terminology used in this instruction. In this 3-hour webinar, participants have the opportunity to practice and learn how to use the lessons from Just Right! A Sensory Modulation Curriculum for K-5 with hands-on activities, make-it/take-it projects, and video demonstrations.

Research shows that 80% of all learning in school settings is acquired through vision.. If children have difficulty using their eyes, they will often give up or work twice as hard as other students, resulting in frustration and a lack of motivation. This 3-hour webinar includes easy-to-understand explanations of the visual system, a variety of FREE resources, and examples of implementation strategies for clinicians to utilize in practice.

Push-in to the classroom is an evidence-based and effective treatment strategy for OTs, PTs, and SLPs. Because of multiple barriers, therapists are often more comfortable providing pull-out therapy sessions. In this 2-hour course, the speaker includes a research review, push-in and distance-learning strategies, and a discussion of the benefits of carryover and collaboration strategies.

Illegible handwriting may lead to poor grades, low motivation to complete written tasks, and behavior issues. Handwriting should be an automatic skill; kids should be able to think and write simultaneously. This 3-hour webinar based on recent research includes inexpensive and simple adaptations and techniques that can be used in the classroom, at home, or during therapy sessions.

Documentation can be very time-consuming and inconsistent among therapists, school districts, and states. This 2-hour course reviews strategies to save you time and ensure effective and accurate documentation. Strategies reviewed include screenings, evaluations, frequency recommendations, IEP and 504 documentation, goals, assistive technology, intervention plans, and progress and daily notes. Helpful forms are included to make your job easier!

Many school districts are establishing systemic, schoolwide approaches to SEL. Therefore, it is important for school-based OTPs to understand their role in implementing SEL within therapy sessions or as members of the school team. SEL is required for successful participation in most areas of occupational performance and falls well within the scope of occupational therapy. This 2-hour webinar provides occupational therapists with specific strategies to address SEL within their current roles that can be implemented immediately.

Google Chromebooks can be an excellent assistive technology tool for students with special needs. Students who have delays in physical, cognitive, or language development may require extra support from Assistive Technology. This course reviews a variety of strategies that can be used as a compensation technique when a student has difficulty functioning in a classroom setting.

This 4-hour course provides you with a screening process, compensation strategies, and treatment ideas for each of these retained primitive reflexes: MORO, TLR, ATNR, Spinal Galant, and STNR. This course is packed with videos, examples, and strategies to help school-aged children reach their full potential in a school-based setting. *This course is also available as a 2-hour course. It contains fewer videos and classroom strategies.

Collaboration is essential in providing therapy services in school systems. Although pull-out sessions can be effective, pushing into the classroom and collaboration are the new norms. Unfortunately, a huge barrier to push-in sessions is TIME! This 2-hour webinar reviews how to determine dosage/frequencies, strategies for using your time efficiently, research, and case studies that support increased collaboration in school systems.

Many children struggle with handwriting legibility because they experience issues with body positioning, hand dominance, grip, and more. Participants will learn easy, inexpensive adaptations and techniques that can be used in the classroom, at home, or in the clinic. This course addresses posture while learning how to make your own adaptations, shoulder stability exercises that can be done anywhere, bilateral coordination, hand dominance, wrist extension, and grip problem-solving.

Goal writing can be time-consuming and difficult for therapists to complete. Writing measurable goals helps you provide a focus for therapy sessions and accurately track progress thus ensuring students’ success! This 1-hour webinar teaches a step-by-step process to write functional goals for students in the school setting. Kim also provides many FREE resources and strategies!

Every year, students exhibit increased motor skills, attention, visual skills, and behavior challenges. School-based therapists are responsible for collaborating with school partners to support student success and contribute to general and special education. Schoolwide movement initiatives, such as motor labs and sensory paths, may be added to the school environment to promote healthy school climates needed for learning. This 2-hour webinar reviews research that encourages using these programs, and provides specific strategies to add a motor lab or sensory path into your school or clinical environment!

Are you looking for ways to CLOSE THE GAP for elementary students that need support because of COVID-19? COVID Slide is a term used to express the expected level of regression due to remote learning and students’ absences during the COVID pandemic. School professionals around the country foresee a significant regression in social-emotional and fine motor skills, sensory functioning, and so much more! Unfortunately, this will most likely drastically increase referrals to RtI, special education, and OT resulting in larger caseloads for all. This 2-hour webinar reviews how occupational therapy practitioners can embed strategies into the classroom that align with their districts’ Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to help our children succeed and avoid regression.

As a telehealth therapist, how many times have you said, “My students are a no-show” or “I can’t get them to pay attention!” When your students are highly engaged, they look forward to your sessions and stay engaged the entire time! This 2-hour webinar provides specific strategies for engaging your students, using green screens, PowerPoints, and much more! Demonstrations, examples, and FREEBIES are provided! Strategies are discussed for engaging students with moderate to severe disabilities.
