As a school-based occupational therapist, I spend a lot of time pushing into self-contained classrooms, working with school-aged students who have significant cognitive differences and developmental needs.

What I’ve learned is this: these learners need sensory language first.

Before they can regulate, before they can access higher-level coping tools, they need to understand how their bodies feel. And to do that, they need language - simple, consistent, sensory-rich language.

That’s why I created Just Right! Jr. A Sensory Modulation Curriculum for Emerging Learners.

💡 Why Just Right! Jr.?

It was born out of necessity. So many of my students couldn’t connect with traditional regulation programs. The content was too abstract, the visuals too advanced, and the strategies not concrete enough.

So I took the core concepts from the original Just Right! K–5 curriculum, and reimagined them with early learners and cognitively diverse students in mind.

This version is all about meeting kids where they are:

With movement, because many children learn best through their bodies.
